Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame to honor two individuals, one company.

A lively evening that combines multiple awards, a networking reception, a silent auction and an induction ceremony will mark the 11th annual Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame (EHOF) ceremony.

At the event, “Beyond Ideas: The Art of Entrepreneurship,” the College of Business Administration at Florida International University (FIU) will honor alumnus Carlos Duart (MST ’99, BACC ’94), president, Metric Engineering, Inc. with the “Builder Award” for achievements in growing an existing business. Alumnus Mariano de Socarraz (BBA ’89), chief executive officer of CorePlus, LLC. will receive the “Founder Award.”

Brian Keeley, president and chief executive officer, Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF) will accept the South Florida Entrepreneurial Company of the Year award on behalf of BHSF. In addition, the winners of The Miami Herald Business Plan Challenge, presented by the Eugenio Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center, will be announced at the event.

Morrison, Brown, Argiz, & Farra, LLP is the presenting sponsor of this year’s celebration, which is the college’s major alumni event each year.
