Department of Management and International Business

Jerry Haar, associate dean for international affairs and projects, professor and research fellow, was quoted in article titled “Angola and Brazil Are Buying Portuguese Companies” in Bloomberg Businessweek on September 15, 2011.

David Wernick, senior lecturer, successfully defended his dissertation, “Secondary Stakeholders as Agents of Influence: Three Essays on Political Risk, Reputation and Multinational Performance.”

Department of Decision Sciences and Information Systems

Nancy Borkowski, clinical associate professor and director of graduate health management programs, served as the moderator for the panel discussion “Preparing for Medicaid HMO Expansion and Negotiating with Payors” at the Healthcare Financial Management Association-Florida Chapter’s 2011 Fall Conference on September 16, 2011. Her article “Learning is a Life-Long Process: Professional Development of Healthcare Managers” appeared in the August 2011 issue of South Florida Hospital News. In August, she was elected to serve for two years as academic-at-large for the Academy of Management’s Health Care Management Division’s Executive Committee.

Monica Chiarini Tremblay, assistant professor, has had her article “Design of an Information Volatility Measure for Health Care Decision Making” accepted for publication in Decision Support Systems, a high-quality journal.
