MIAMI, Oct 19, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) — A cash prize of US$10,000 and access to the Tres Mares global network will be awarded to the winner of the “Tres Mares Innovation Prize”. The winner will be announced at FIU’s Americas Venture Capital Conference taking place at the Biltmore Hotel in Miami, November 16th-17th, 2011.
The “Tres Mares Innovation Prize” winner, in addition to the cash prize, will be awarded an artistic rendition of innovation valued at US$5,000 by Tercerunquinto, a collective group of Mexican artists. Tercerunquinto is best known for their bold and thought provoking artistic messages blending sculptural, architectural, urbanism and negotiation elements in artwork such as “Anarchitecture,” “I Am What I Am” and “New Langton Arts Archive For Sale: A Sacrificial Act.”
The “Tres Mares Innovation Prize” pursues to distinguish promising innovative enterprises from South Florida and Latin America whose creative efforts are leading the development of innovative products or services that impact the region’s economy. During the 2011 Americas Venture Capital Conference entrepreneurs will have the unique opportunity to network with financiers, present their business plans and raise capital from venture capitalists and leading global investment groups.
