With Divina Grossman, founding vice president of Office of Engegement, leaving Florida International University to become chancellor of UMass Dartmouth, the university has appointed Dr. Irma Becerra-Fernandez to fill the vacancy.
“It is a big loss that Dr. Grossman is leaving; she is magnificent and has delivered beyond expectation,” said FIU President Mark Rosenberg. “UMass made absolutely the right choice.”
Recommended by UMass President Robert Caret, Dr. Grossman was picked from 130 candidates. Dr. Rosenberg said although the office will miss Dr. Grossman, the enterprise is more than one person.
