Alumni, faculty and staff gathered for a lively College of Business Alumni Holiday Reception at Florida International University (FIU) on December 10, 2014. This year the event, held at the Special Events Center, was open to graduates of both the R. Kirk Landon Undergraduate School of Business and the Alvah H. Chapman Jr. Graduate School of Business.

Food, drink and live music put everyone in the holiday spirit as guests, numbering almost 100, reminisced, got caught up and made new connections.

Dean debuts video at gathering.

During a short presentation, Jennifer Quintana, director of Alumni Relations, welcomed the group. Dean David Klock briefed everyone on recent college events and showed a new video that featured recent accomplishments including high rankings for the college in U.S. News and in Bloomberg Business Week.

“We have had an exciting year in the College of Business,” Dean Klock said. “Thank you for your time, your talent and your moral and financial support. It means so much to us.”

Business groups use the opportunity to gather.

Among those attending the reception were members of the Business Alumni Chapter,

The Real Estate Alumni Affinity Council (REAAC) and the college’s newly formed Marketing Alumni Affinity Council. Also, prior to the reception, members of the Dean’s Council and leaders of the Alumni Advisory Board enjoyed a pre-event gathering, and also joined in the alumni party.
