“Welcome to the BizLife” sets students on the path to explore new opportunities.

A celebration of education, “Welcome to the BizLife” highlighted the resources the College of Business offers its students including advising, career management and international studies, as well as the multiple student organizations.

“Today marks the beginning of a new journey; it’s almost like a rite of passage into something new,” Dean Joanne Li told students at the January 18th start-of-semester tradition. “Go beyond the classroom and seek the world.”

Representatives from event sponsor PwC introduced students to the firm’s leadership opportunities, establishing early connections with potential interns and new hires. Each year, PwC recruits between 60 and 70 FIU students for their multiple internships as well as full-time positions.

“Building & growing professional relationships provides opportunities for growth, mentorship and leadership,” said Rafael Garcia, tax partner at PwC, highlighting the firm’s long-standing relationship with the College of Business. “An internship is an extended interview. Try to make the best impression all the time.”

FIU Business student organizations welcome inquiries from potential members throughout the year. For more information, contact the organization directly.
