Hurricane Dorian Update: FIU Closed on Tuesday

Hurricane Update

Dear members of the university community,

FIU classes are canceled on Tuesday, Sep. 3, 2019 at all FIU locations and online in anticipation of Hurricane Dorian’s impact on parts of South Florida.

The university is closed, with limited food venue operations: 8th Street Campus Kitchen and Market at Breezeway will be open at MMC.

Safety is the top priority. If you live in area impacted by watches and warnings, please exercise caution. FIU administrators are monitoring the situation and looking to reopen the university as soon as it is safe to do so. Please note that add/drop and payment deadlines have been extended. Revised deadlines will be announced after the university reopens.

In the coming days, please continue monitoring news media reports and look for official university communication through email and on social media channels regarding operations the rest of the week.

Stay safe.
