Richard Ganter (BAC ’84) has joined BBVA Compass as senior vice president and market executive.

Mario Trueba (MBA ’87), CEO of Sabadell United Bank, and Adalio T. Sanchez (MBA ’87), General Manager of IBM System x and BladeCenter server product lines have been named Torch Award winners, Trueba in the “Distinguished Alumni” category and Sanchez in the “Outstanding Achievement” category. The awards, established by the FIU Alumni Association, honor successful individuals who have had a positive impact on their profession and the community. The 12th Annual Torch Awards Gala will take place in March 2013.

Cherry Bekaert and Holland promoted Darla Thompson (MST ’93) to tax partner. She was previously a tax senior manager in the firm’s South Florida region. She also is the chair of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce.

Berkowitz Pollack Brant Advisors and Accountants named Robert Aldir (BACC ’01) senior manager in its audit and attest practice. He was most recently a senior manager in the audit and enterprise risk services group in the Miami office of Deloitte.

Millie Luna Zdziebkowski (EMBA ’08) was named senior product manager of the multicultural customer experience at Comcast Cable.
