U.S. News Ranks FIU’s Undergraduate International Business Program No. 2 in the Nation

The undergraduate international business program at FIU Business is ranked No. 2 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in its 2020 Best Colleges rankings, released September 9. The international business program jumped four spots, up from No. 6 last year. This is the sixth consecutive year that the program at FIU Business has been ranked in the Top 10 by U.S. News. The ranking is based on the college’s national and global reputation for international business education.

“FIU Business has been committed to excellence in international business education and research for many years and we’re delighted to see the undergraduate program receive its highest ranking yet from U.S. News,” said Joanne Li, dean of FIU Business. “This ranking is a testament to the strength of our faculty members and the academic programs we offer in this area.”

Overall, the FIU Business undergraduate program is ranked No. 78 among all public business school programs in the 2020 U.S. News rankings, placing it in the Top 100 for the third consecutive year. The college offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in International Business program and numerous study abroad programs through collaborations with 60 international institutions on six continents. FIU Business also offers short faculty-led study trips. Options for the current academic year include Italy; Dubai and Thailand; and Spain and Portugal. The college is home to a Center for International Business Education and Research, one of just 15 such centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education nationwide and the only one in Florida.

The international business faculty at FIU Business is currently ranked No. 5 in the U.S. for the number of publications in the Journal of International Business Studies, the leading journal in the field (UT Dallas Top 100 Business School Research Rankings, 2016 – 2019). The college was recently selected as the host institution for the 2021 Annual Meeting of the Academy of International Business (AIB), the leading not-for-profit professional association of scholars and specialists in the field of international business. AIB’s Annual Meeting has recently taken place in Beijing, China; Milan, Italy; Nagoya, Japan; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
